Welcome and thank you for visiting our Website. My name is Takao Ichinohe, the President of the World Federation of Building Service Contractors (WFBSC) and the Japan Building Maintenance Association (JBMA) .
In April 2016, the 21st WFBSC Congress will be held in Tokyo, Japan. This is a wonderful time of year, as the city streets and parks will be decorated with the most beautiful clouds of cherry blossoms in full bloom.
It is the change of season, from winter to spring, when nature is throwing off the cold months of winter, and all the trees are bursting with new green shoots, ready for the spring blossoms. Every year all the country wholeheartedly welcomes this colorful season of light and new growth. Town after town in Tokyo is painted in bright green leaves and vibrant blossoms, and we in turn will be pleased to offer a warm welcome to our guests from all over the world attending the Congress.
The theme of 2016 is "Building Service Contractors: Services to create rich life" and we will examine and discuss the value of the building service industry. Our industry represents a building space lifestyle and culture captured in such keywords as safety, reassurance, comfort, and convenience; in essence, a building maintenance industry that provides comfortable workplaces and a richer and better life experience. To realize the value of satisfying building users lies at the very heart of our clients' expectations. The Congress aims to increase public awareness and trust and confidence in our industry. We would be grateful if together we can all consider these themes at the Congress.
The main venue is the Tokyo International Forum conveniently located in central Tokyo, close to the Imperial Palace, and an easy walk to Ginza. In addition, the gala dinner is hosted in the Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo, with its traditional Japanese landscape garden; the perfect spot to linger and enjoy spring greenery, cherry blossoms and a gently murmuring stream.
The Congress is from April 4 to 6, 2016. I am very much looking forward to meeting my many old friends and making many new ones. I would especially like those of you who are from vibrant Asia to enjoy this world congress held in this small part of our beautiful continent, and I extend a hearty welcome to participants from all over the world.
